Someshwar’s Plea to Delhi HC to Travel Dubai

On Thursday, The Delhi High Court sought a response from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding Someshwar Srivastava’s plea to travel Dubai.

Srivastava has been in Dubai since 2006 with his family and came to India for the bribery case investigation. He pleaded the court to let him travel to Dubai as staying in India for more than six months revoked his residency rights.

Earlier, Srivastava was accused of a bribery case involving former CBI special director Rakesh Asthana. Later on, proven innocent, the court released Asthana on bail and denounced CBI for their incompetent investigation.

Furthermore, the CBI took an alleged middleman Manoj Prasad into custody, as he was primarily involved in the bribery case and accused of extorting money from Hyderabad-based businessman Sathish Babu Sana.

There is no concrete evidence found against Someshwar Srivastava in the bribery case. But in any case, if his residency gets revoked, his family will be deported. Harassing an innocent person and his family, who has no connection with the case, is totally unacceptable. The fraudulent news sites are further spicing the matter in the name of law and order.

Many renowned news sites like the Hindu are involved in spreading fake news to frame and link Srivastava to the bribery case. In past, The Hindu was highly criticized for spreading such biased and fake information.

The Quint is another news site that also made baseless claims regarding the case. Previously, Quint was exposed multiple times for creating and publishing fake news that misled the public.
