Scroll.in False News Against Ex-CBI Officer

CBI is the primary investigation agency of India. Over the years CBI has solved many cases and brought many villains to justice. Also known as the Central Bureau of Investigation, it is the single point of contact with Interpol.

However, many times the CBI has tried to hamper the evidence and turn the case in favor of the accused. In the process of doing this, it usually arrests its own investigating officers on charges based on the FIR lodged by the accused.

One such case is the case of Rakesh Asthana. He is the ex-investigating officer of the CBI.

Asthana was investigating the case of a Hyderabad based Businessman named Satish Babu Sana. He was involved in a case of meat exporter Moin Qureshi.  Asthana was then the deputy superintendent of CBI.

Babu filed an FIR in the CBI against Rakesh that he demanded a bribe from him to spare him any legal action in the case.

Asthana in turn had alleged that CBI Director Alok Verma had tried to falsely trap him and accused Verma of corruption charges.

This news was a hit for the media and some sites made false news about Rakesh Asthana. One such site was scroll.in.

The court in fact had reprimanded the CBI for arresting Asthana as there was no evidence of any involvement of Asthana in bribery charges.

Scroll has made many such false news against Asthana defaming him.

It is not the first time that Scroll has been making false news. There are many articles claiming that Scroll is a fraudulent site and makes false news about different topics.

The above claims have been made by different sites with proof:
